If you or a loved one is struggling with addiction issues this is a strong program without blame or criticism.
This is a great place to learn a new or healthy way of living. You are not broken, defective or a loser.
First and foremost you are a human being.
Usually, there are other issues to be explored in treatment not just stopping mind-altering substances such as alcohol or drugs (illegal, synthetic, over the counter or prescription).
Therapy provides a confidential and safe place to explore issues such as trauma, family dysfunction, grief and the pain that is generating use of substances to not feel or to numb the pain. Not feeling the pain (numbing) avoids the solution rather than reducing the pain.
The experience of the therapist and the client learning to use new solutions to problems is the key. The old solutions don't work anymore. Some have been taught many ideas, strategies or thoughts that set the trap to stay stuck. The traps we learned will be explored and new solutions will be added to help with the struggle and the pain and suffering.
Alcoholism, drug addiction and process addictions are a brain and family disease. The brain and the family can heal and live in a much more healthy way.
